July was our annual PPVA Summer Picnic with our great hosts again, Sandy & Larry Solomon and Marcy Kurin of Solomon Studios. It was a beautiful day with great food, drink and great company. Thanks Sandy, Larry and Marcy.

February - Mike Martin of Willow Productions presented High Quality setup and use of online video sites for better promotion of business.

January - Open discussion on New Year business resolutions and strastegies.

Thanks to Marger and Eric Pensenstatler for organizing our annual Christmas Party. This time the association went to Dave & Busters.

- August/September mettings. AB&G presented 4 effect demonstrations using After Effects. They also showcased one of their wedding same-day-edits. Info on Weva's Liscensestream and Triple Scoop Music as well as discussion on the importance of network associations.

Our July Summer Picnic was fantastic!!! Thanks again to Sandy & Larry Solomon along with Marcy Kurin for putting together a very relaxing summer afternoon party with plenty of great food and activities. Great Job!

May 2008 - Camera, Cameras, Camers. Thanks to Mike Giles of Tri-State Video for showcasing several new HD cameras.

April 2008 - Thanks to Steve Klinger of "I DO STREAM" for sharing his product of live Webcasting.

March 2008 - Thanks to Joe Senay of the Lerro Corporation for providing the Canon Xl-H1 for demonstration. Comparisons were made with Canon's smaller camera the A1 and JVC's 200.

`February 2008 - Edirol sponsored speaker Brooke Rudnick who gave a fanastic presentation on how to get to know your clients and the shots you need to produce the perfect wedding video. She showed clips of her work and explained how she captured the emotion of the day.`

December 2007 - We had our annual Christmas Party. Thanks to Loretta Martin for organizing an enjoyable evening.

October meeting- PPVA members Becky & Gary Carmichael and Dan Lewis shared their knowledge and experiences of the wedding "same-day-edit."

9/17/07 - The 4 Ever Group's Tim Ryan presented "Innovation Station." A fantastic presentation which included topics of the Same Day Edit, Time Shifting, and Video Production Techniques. He showed very creative and unique weddings from all over the country. Thanks Tim!

8/20/07 - Marketing Guru Steve Yankee came to town to pass on his many years of marketing wisdom. Thanks Steve!

7/9/07 - Many thanks to Sandy and Larry Solomon and Marcy Kurin for hosting another Annual PPVA Summer Picnic. As always, there was plenty of great food, drink and wonderful company. It was a beautiful summer day which made it excellent for swimming. Thanks again Sandy, Larry and Marcy for being such exceptional hosts.

6/18/2007 -  The Pittsburgh Association Featured WEVA Ambassador Program at the Greentree Radisson in Pittsburgh. Natalie Neal, who is president of the GPVA and producer of WEVA-TV’s Nat Chat series presented “Sales, Marketing and Brides Oh My!” an interactive session that offers proven tips and tricks on making and closing video sales by getting inside the head of today’s bride. Neal, who directs the new Ambassador Program along with WEVA’s Director of Educational Development John Zale, also shared details on strategic industry-wide initiatives and new membership benefits that WEVA International has developed for professional wedding and event videographers nationally and worldwide.

5/21/07 - PPVA member Dan Lewis gave a presentation on blogging. He gave information on how to set up a blog how it can increase traffic to websites.

At the April 16, 2007 meeting, Jim Davis from DVS Direct presented the NewTek TriCaster. It combines everything found in a television live truck into a box small enough to fit into a backpack. He also demonstrated SpeedEDIT. SpeedEDIT further accelerates the editing process by linking the storyboard and timeline, which allows the performance of many common functions in fewer steps.

January through March - The PPVA meetings included Eric Pensenstadler's introduction to the Glidecam, Mike Martin had 2 marketing presentations with using internet email greetings, newsletters and using Goggle Video, Members exhibited 5 minute shorts to possibly be entered into the 4Ever Group's Fall Festival Contest as well as lots of video business related discussion.

1/13/07 Monthly meetings for the first quarter of 2007 will be held at Panera in Wilkins Township next to Monroeville. See directions on our "Meetings" page.

12/13/06 We had a festive time at our annual Christmas Party at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford. We had great dinner, great company, and Santa even came by to give presents to the little ones. Thank you to Loretta Martin for her time and effort in making the night possible.

11/29/06 It's time for our annual PPVA Christmas Party. This year's festivities will take place on Tuesday December 12th at 6:00 pm at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford.

10/17/06 -Fantastic Autumn workshop. Presenters were PPVA member Tracy Painter, from Entertainment Tonite, sharing his expertise (as presented at WEVA) with high school sports videos and the featured speaker, Hal Slifer who shared his vast experiences with the latest trend in wedding videography--The Same Day Edit.

9/19/06 - Next month, Hal Slifer will be coming to Pittsburgh to give a presentation on the Same-Day-Wedding Edit and Ethnic Videos

9/19/06 - PPVA member, John Tonti, gave a very insightful presentation to steadicams at the Monday meeting.

8/22/06 - Tim Ryan of the 4EVER Group gave a very instructional presentation on adding more value to the wedding video. Tim offered a realm of creative possibilities inspiring even our wedding veterans. The 4EVER Group has a great attitude and philosophy geared to educating our industry and it shows. Thanks Tim.

7/24/06 - Fantastic training was provided by Luisa Winters. We learned many new tips on working with Adobe Premiere and plenty of possibilities with After Effects. Thanks to everyone for coming and thanks to Luisa for her informative expertise.

7/19/06 - Larry and Sandy Solomon and Marcy Kurin hosted our annual summer picnic on July 16th. We had a perfect day, a perfect relaxing location, plenty of food and drink and a good attendance. Members that could not make it missed out on the abundance provided by our hosts.

6/7/06 - Luisa Winters tentatively will be scheduled for a day of training on Monday, July 24th at the Monroeville Radisson.

6/6/06 - Becky Carmichael of AB&G Digital Productions had a training session with several PPVA members. Tips and Techniques with Premiere Pro, After Effects, and a new Mosaic Program were discussed. Thank you Becky and Gary for your hospitality.

6/1/06 - The PPVA is currently working on getting video professionals such as Luisa Winters, Tim Ryan, and Hal Slifer to make an appearance here in Pittsburgh. Look at the calender for upcoming events.

9/28/06 - Hal Slifer, veteran videographer, , columnist for EventDV magazine and presenter ,this year, at both The4EverGroup convention and WEVA,will be giving two special presentations for the Pittsburgh Videographer Association on Monday October 16, 2006. Hal's afternoon presentation will be Profiting from Biography Presentations and his evening talk will be on the very popular same day edit revolution that is firing up the video community, The Wedding at the Wedding tm.
